Announcing Demetrius Mitchell, Assistant Store Director!

We are so pleased to announce Demetrius Mitchell as our new Assistant Store Director!
​
Demetrius comes to The Market @ 25th with 10 years of hospitality management, but more importantly, an endless commitment to serve his community and neighbors. When he began working in Richmond back in 2004, he experienced the fulfillment of service by volunteering on the Church Hospitality Committee and became hooked. Demetrius felt called to serve every day, and we are so proud and grateful that he has joined The Market @ 25th to not only continue to serve, but to share his talent and energy with all of our team members and customers. He is feeling whole now that he can serve the community he loves on a daily basis. We are confident you will feel his energy every time you walk through the aisles!
Demetrius is thankful to his wife of 9 years, Shekinah Coleman Mitchell for her support and love.

Announcing Jae Scott, Store Director!
Hello Friends and Neighbors!
As we took on the task of identifying the right person as our Store Director, we had three main priorities for this key individual:
1. Someone with significant ties to the community, or a past or current resident of Church Hill.
2. Someone with strong leadership skills
3. Someone with strong grocery management experience

One individual met all three priorities, and indeed met them strongly, Jae Scott. I was introduced to Jae by Johnny Johnson, his uncle. I had met with Mr. Johnson to listen to suggestions in operating a store in Church Hill. As you probably know, Mr. Johnson owned and operated Community Pride stores, all in the area, and was very well known for operating excellent stores with strong community ties. He gave me great advice as well as introducing me to Jae.
Jae's background includes Store Director for Community Market, First Asst Store Director for Community Pride, Assistant Manager for the Market @ Tobacco Row (currently Farm Fresh in Shockoe Bottom), and Assistant Manager for Farmers Food Grocery Store. The past 6 years, Jae worked with Kroger as a District Wide Front End Coordinator. As you can see, Jae has great grocery management experience. He also has wonderful leadership skills. In my opinion, he is the perfect fit to partner with me to operate our community store, The Market @ 25th.
He was driven to our store by our mission, our sincere desire to make a positive difference, and our motivation to serve the residents in the community. We are thrilled to have him as part of the team.
